I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle while trippin' around the world. Some say it's not possible.

I say, watch!

Healthy trippin' is a concept of mine I came up with before I left on this big adventure. How many people do you meet who have come back from overseas, complaining about how unfit they are and how much weight they put on abroad? I've met a lot of people on the road who say it too. But what if you could do a few things here and there to help maintain your fitness and health? I think it's possible! I'm not saying to be a complete health nut because let's face it, you're not travelling because you want to be healthy, you're travelling to eat yourself silly in foreign cuisines and drink a shitload of beer. Nevertheless  this is my attempt at my healthy trippin' concept.

I like to run, and do anything active really. Mai thinks I'm crazy. It's pretty difficult to keep on top of your fitness when you are constantly on the move. When I left Australia, I set an ambitious goal to at least do something active everyday, whether that was running, yoga, push ups/sit ups etc. After travelling through Scandinavia in December, I realised it was a little unrealistic. Mainly because on the road, you have NO routine. One morning you may have to get up at 4am to make a flight, a few days later you find yourself on a train all day and turn up to your hostel at midnight completely shattered. So I set the bar a little lower, which proved to be way more reachable. I am only short, after all.

Instead of everyday, I aim to go for a run in every country/town we visit, anything else on top of that is a bonus and I deserve a bloody pat on the back. I started the fitness blog to keep me on top of things, and also to share my photos. Running is a great way to get your bearings around a place, I get to see the non-touristy side as well as feel like I am being active.
